Artist's Description

El Reno Tornado by Douglas Berry. On May 31, 2013 the widest tornado ever recorded began near El Reno, OK. Pictured here is the initial touchdown before the tornado gained width and speed. Doppler weather radar revealed extreme winds in excess of 296 mph while the tornado became 2.6 miles wide. I personally had never seen an entire storm spin so fast.
